Description

On a background of a clear, starry sky – the freely brushed circle (Enso) is ornamented with intricately executed jewel-like geometric shapes. Their fine detail of tiny gilded surfaces and luminous colour contrasts sharply with the looseness of the brush-stroke and surrounding splatterings of paint.
The Tibetan Uchen script translates as 'Ornaments of the Natural State'. A scholarly explanation would not be fitting ........... Instead, here is a poem by the 16th century Mahamudra Master, Dakpo Tashi Namgyal.
“Elevate your experience and remain wide open like the sky. Expand your mindfulness and remain pervasive like the earth. Steady your attention and remain unshakeable like a mountain. Brighten your awareness and remain shining like a flame.
Clear your thoughtfree wakefulness and remain lucid like a crystal.”
